Frankly, I’m not one for “things outside the box”. I like to get the same thing every time. Boring? Perhaps. But I like it.
I did venture out, though, to try Orville Redenbacher’s Natural Buttery Salt & Cracked Pepper. I have been known (read: I do this fairly regularly) to eat microwave popcorn for lunch. It’s quick, easy, cheap, tasty…what more could a girl ask for? I do have certain brands I like (usually the lite butter ones…). But I read a review of microwave popcorn and they had rave reviews for this popcorn that had pepper on it.
So one day I was in the store and I thought, hey, why not? I bought a box, and here’s my review.
The popcorn comes in a “snack” size. It’s about half of a regular bag of popcorn. Good for me when I’m snacking at work.
It’s not too buttery or salty. I prefer my popcorn with less butter and salt than most people, and if I was manufacturing this, I would probably put even less butter and salt on this popcorn. But it’s okay.
The pepper is…interesting. The review said people couldn’t stop eating it. I don’t know if that’s quite the case. It’s okay. It’s not great, it’s not awful. I suppose it you were a big fan of pepper, this would be your thing. But I’m not, so it’s not my thing.
I would give this popcorn…. 2 diamonds (out of 5).
