Other People’s Giveaways

Okay, I’ll admit it, I’m a giveaway hussy. I can’t help it! So I’ve got a couple I’ve been saving up for ya. And if you’re not into giveaways, then keep on reading anyways ’cause I’ve got an interesting (story) mixed in here. Sorta. Kinda. Almost.

Dana at Old Red Barn Company has recently reached her 200th post. I totally relate to that as I recently surpassed my 100th post. Anyway, to celebrate her 200th post, she’s giving away this beeeyutiful quilt that she made. You only have until March 19th at 7:00pm EDT. Hurry! Here’s where my story comes in.

As some of you know, I’m getting married soon. Actually, let’s pretend it’s a year away ’cause I don’t have near enough of my wedding projects done. (Just allow me my fantasies, nkay?) When I was visiting my Grandma and Aunt (both of whom are very crafty) back in August (?), my Aunt said, Is there something you would like me to make you for your wedding gift? I thought for about 2 seconds and said, A blanket (quilt, afghan, whatever). She replied, Eh, I don’t think I’ll do that. I said, Okay. Then whatever you do is fine. Folks, readers, lurkers, stalkers, I love blankets. I swoon over quilts, I drool on afgans, if anyone ever wanted to make me something, I would 95% of the time hint around that a blanket would do just fine thank you. And if you need the address to send the blanket to, just email me (trish(dot)browning(at)gmail(dot)com).

Yeah, so anyway, a quilt’s being given away. Freakin’ awesome.

If I had to choose between blankets and books, I don’t know if I could do it. How can you read without a blanket, and what’s the point of a blanket without a book? Hopefully I never am faced with that. But in the meantime, someone else is giving away free books! The Page Flipper is giving away 6 books this month to ONE person. Check out her post about it here. SIX free books?! Maybe I’ll even share if I win. 🙂 You have until March 31st to enter.

FINALLY, Cass Knits! is giving away a copy of the book Martha Stewart’s Cookies. These cookies are droolalicious. If I win, maybe I’ll make some cookies and have ya’ll over for cookies and Pepsi (that’s how I roll…with Pepsi). You have until March 23rd to enter.

Cooking by the seat of my Pants is giving away an iPod Touch. Holy freaking moly. I think the iPod Touch might just be the answer to all of my life’s problems. It would make me happy and I would feel complete and I would never need to eat any chocolate ever again. You have until April 11th to enter.

So am I the only one with a blanket obsession? Anyone? Anyone?

Love! blankets and I must have one on me in the living room, and when I am reading. We keep a pile of them in the corner, because what if everyone wants one?
My favorite blanket is a mohair blanket that most people think is itchy, but it is not. It just keeps the heat in so perfectly.

That’s a beautiful quilt! I love blankets, too. Gotta have one for reading downstairs.

The only blanket I am obsessed with (or maybe obsessed with avoiding for the moment) is the one I am trying to crochet. I am sure it will be nice when I am done but I haven’t touched the thing in months because there is just so much to do with it.

    Thanks for the links though!

Thanks for the links, Trish!!! And yeah, I love blankets too! ;P

I love blankets, too, but not as much as you. So I entered the contest and mentioned your name to give you an extra chance. Although my entry negates it, I think. Oh well. Tell me if I win…I’ll let you have the blanket as a wedding present. 😀

I am looking for a blanket that has holes for my hands to hold a book but keeps me totally covered. Ever seen such? Does that even make sense? Every time I’m snuggled under a blanket to read, I get cold cuz the blanket shifts everytime I have to take my arm out to turn the page.

    Care, that’s called a poncho!!

ditto on the blankets. and i’ve got my kids addicted too 🙂 we have piles of blankets all over – on beds, couches, floors, stuffed in closets and on top of each other.
