Why You Shouldn’t Put Music On Your Blog
I clicked on a blog today and almost jumped out of my chair because the song whispers “one two three four” in the beginning and there’s no one in the house besides me AND MY DOGS. And last time I checked they don’t whisper. Or talk.
Maybe I startle too easily, but I’m just sayin…

Ha! That was actually one of my blogging tips I just had written about it. Good thing you were at home though. I guess people who surf the net at work instead of working probably have already figured out to keep their speakers off.

I don’t get music on blogs. How often do you stay on a blog long enough to even hear one whole song, let alone a playlist of songs?

Dude, I am with you. Music on blogs is overkill. And usually I hate the song.
A few of the songs on my iPod start with someone talking, and every time I get all freaked out because I’m at the gym ALONE! WHO IS TALKING!?!?

I’m not a big fan of music on blogs–unless it’s the kind that doesn’t start playing unless I choose for it to. I tend not to have my speakers on when I am at the computer unless I’m listening to iTunes. It can be so annoying when I open a blog with music and the music starts playing over what I’m already listening to.

I leave my speakers off! But, having said that, I did once happen across a blog with a playlist and I had my speakers on for some unknown reason. I LOVED that blogger’s taste and ended up buying 4 albums after looking up various artists and listening to several more songs. They’re among the best albums I’ve ever owned.
On a normal basis, I hate music on blogs. It annoys me.

I don’t like blogs with automatic music – I often open blogs on new tabs in the background and then the music starts and I have to search through them trying to find which one is playing the music! Sometimes people don’t make it obvious how to turn it off either!

I’m so with you on this one. So much so that I sometimes refuse to link to blogs that I really want to link to in a specific post because of the music. The exception? Music blogs. Music blogs are kind of allowed to have music on them aren’t they?
