Favorite Ice Cream?

Image found here.

(Skip to the bottom for my confession) As much as I love books, I love ice cream, too. Curlywurlygirly talked about this over here, but I had more to say than I cared to type in the comment box. So I’m making a post of it instead.

Favorite Ice Cream:

  • Dreyer’s Cookies ‘n Cream (but they TOTALLY need more oreos in this thing)
  • Ben & Jerry’s Half Baked
  • Ben & Jerry’s Mint Chocolate Cookie
  • Baskin Robbins Chocolate Chip
  • Baskin Robbins World Class Chocolate
  • Baskin Robbins Gold Medal Ribbon
  • Screamin’ Mimi’s Galaxy (a local ice cream place…this is their chocolate chip and it’s sooo good!)
  • Coney Island Waffle Cone is pretty good, but I haven’t had it in years.

Favorite Ways To Eat Ice Cream:

  • In a waffle cone
  • In a cup
  • UNLESS I’m having soft serve, then I’ll take a plain cone

Other Random Rules:

  • Ice cream shouldn’t be mixed up in a bowl like soup
  • Fruit should not come in contact with ice cream. Unless you’re having vanilla, then it’s acceptable for fresh strawberries to appear. But nothing should be pre-mixed.
  • A drizzle of chocolate sauce does not suffice. Equal parts ice cream to equal parts chocolate sauce.

Confessions:

  • ONCE, I ate a pint of ice cream. I was at my aunt’s house and would be leaving the next day (it takes 4 to 5 hours to drive home) and I didn’t want the ice cream to go to waste. I’ve never eaten a pint in one sitting again.
  • I like to sprinkle Ghiradelli Ground Sweet Chocolate on vanilla ice cream. You should try it! The texture differences are cool. But don’t forget, equal parts ice cream to ground chocolate.

Tell me your favorites! Or better yet, tell me your confessions. πŸ™‚

I have just discovered my favorite ice cream ever- Ben and Jerry’s Imagine Whirled Peace. SO SO good!

I am also partial to any coffee flavored ice cream as I am currently nursing and can’t have the coffee itself.

I like Cherry Garcia from Ben and Jerry’s, Cherry Jubilee (the beginnings of a theme) at Baskin Robbins, and French Vanilla with Blackberries mixed in (theme over) at Cold Stone. You may not like fruit mixed in yours, but these are heaven.
I’m new at blogging, but found your site and enjoyed it.

Pretzels and ice cream are brilliant together. And chocolate with those two …wow.

What an amusing post!! I agree – equal parts chocolate to ice-cream and definitely no fruit with it!!

I haven’t had much ice cream this year – this summer is not proving worth of ice-cream!! I did have a huge waffle cone when I was in Australia though – that was very tasty!

oh, don’t even get me started. last week i went to a party and my contribution was a gallon of hagen dazs vanilla ice cream mixed with 3 pints of pureed rasberries which i then put into popsicle molds and re-froze. does it get better? i think not.

“Fruit should not come in contact with ice cream.” OH yeah I am with you on that one. Nuts, on the other hand, are practically mandatory. Especially if they are slightly salty.

I’m hit or miss with ice cream, sometimes I adore it so much that I’d sell my kids for it, and others I would not dream of wanting it. I’m fickle, I suppose.

When I do eat it, I tend to like sorbet. Or a fatty chocolate malt. Yum.

I’m partial to chocolate with lots of stuff in it (like peanut butter cups, or fudge, or caramel, or all of the above). And don’t hate me, but I like my ice cream soft.

    My favorites though…
-a Mexican Chocolate ice cream that a local ice cream shop made. It had cinnamon and orange flavors. Yum! Except they went out of business a long time ago. πŸ™

-the combo of dark chocolate and tangerine gelato that I had in Florence last year. Hands down, the best…and we sampled plenty of gelato.

I LOVE ice cream! My all-time favorite is mint chocolate chip from Baskin Robbins. I also love their jamoca almond fudge. But I just finished eating for lunch (yeah, I know), Ben & Jerry’s cinnamon buns ice cream. Wow! I think I’m in love.

My husband manages a Dairy Queen, and plans to buy the franchise in the next couple of years – so I get a lot of ice cream at my house. My current fave is the July Blizzard of the Month, Thin Mint – yum. I don’t even really like Thin Mints by themselves, but mixed up in some DQ soft serve, they are heavenly.

Wow, I have to go get a bowl of ice cream now. My current favorite is Fleur de Sel by Haagan Daz. It is a combo of sea salt, caramel and chocolate. I just went to make sure I spelled it correctly and my husband finished it! I hate fruit on my ice cream and agree on the equal parts chocolate to ice cream although I prefer dulce de leche caramel.

I love this post and totally agree with pretty much everything said, especially the equal parts vanilla ice cream and chocolate topping. I want to try the ghiradelli sprinkles. We just bought an ice cream maker this summer and I am really into homemade ice cream right now. The store bought just isn’t the same. Great post and Great blog!
