Bookworm Tag: The Art of Racing in the Rain
My friend, mellymel (just ’cause we’ve never met does NOT make her any less of a friend than my real life friend), tagged me for this meme (even though it doesn’t look like it since she didn’t link to me), and anything book related is fun, yes? Did I just hear someone say No? Partypooper.
ANYway, here’s the assignment, should you choose to accept it:
So. You’ll be getting a review of this book (and a giveaway!) fantastically soon, but not quite yet. In the meantime, here’s a teaser from The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein:
(to set this up, Denny’s wife, Eve, left the protagonist, the dog, Enzo, alone for three days with no food because she had a terrible migraine and fled the house)
“You always go away, and I have to take care of Zoe (their daughter) and Enzo (the dog) all by myself, and I can’t do it! It’s too much! I can barely take care of myself!”
“You should have called Mike or taken him to a kennel or something ! Don’t try to kill him.”
“I didn’t try to kill him,” she whispered.
I know, huh? CRAZY GOODNESS!! Mr. Stein, my heart flutters for your writing.
If you want to play, jump in! The water’s warm. I’m tagging two people: Kim from I Smell Books, and Tammy from Literate Chick (who has the CUTEST header!). If you want to play, let’s play!

I’d play, but why bother since I’m sitting here in my hotel room in Davis reading that very book. I’m at the Annika part.
