I also take the covers off. My husband doesn’t and it makes me crazy to watch. He is not so nice to his books. Fortunately, we don’t share many.

I actually WANT to read the end of something first, cause I’ve never done it, but I can’t QUITE bring myself to do it.

I also have a hard time reading while eating, but mine is because I tend to move my mouth while I read and eating throws off my rhythm, lol!

I’m a professor, and I spend my summers re-reading. The summer of 2007, I read _Pride and Prejudice_ about 8 times. This past summer, I re-read the Harry Potter series 7 times. The whole series. Once school starts in the fall, I can break the pattern.

I also love free bookmarks. I’ve been taking them every chance I get and have always meant to start a collection. I have pasted many into the scrapbooks I make when I travel.

Someone really should put together a coffee table book about them. I’d buy it.

I would never read the end of a book first. That makes me feel funny just thinking about it!
One son takes the book jackets off immediately which drives the other sons crazy. He can even figure out how to get the jackets off a library book without damaging them. He cannot figure out how to turn off a light. Odd.
Love free bookmarks and homemade ones are the best.

I like your answers. I leave the dustjackets on my own books, but have to take them off my daughter’s, because she always tears them. I like to read the info on jacket flaps, but almost never the acknowledgements- they’re usually so boring.

Taking off the book jackets…I should, because they get so beat up from my carrying the book around.

I take off the slipcovers, too. That really, really irritates my husband, but he’s into Book Abuse so he can just stuff it.
