I've always enjoyed books based on religions that differ from mine. English was always my favorite subject. The reading part of it. I loved reading and didn't mind reading aloud. I was also very shy. My high school English teacher was my favorite. She really helped build my confidence. I don't even know if anything is read aloud anymore. School was such a long time ago. Thank you.

There couldn't be two legendary English teachers with that name.Ditto. MLI changed my life completely. I owe my career to her influence and inspiration. I last saw her in the summer of 1991 at a college football game. I've tried looking her up recently but couldn't find any reference on the Web.

You wouldn’t happen to be talking about Mary Louise Igert from Willard, MO would you? Of course, I think I really liked that class because my best friend and I would sit in class and giggle through it.

My favorite teacher was English teacher, Mrs. Connor. Growing up in Idaho, most teachers were Idahoans, but Emoor Bordelon came to us from Louisiana, which was as foreign to us as if he was from France or Germany. Emoor was a Cajun; a small man with an infectious laugh and an enthusiasm for learning that inspired formerly lethargic students into believing studying English could be fun. He found ways to bring literature to life; the most common being to read passages from books using a dramatic voice and asking penetrating, Socratic questions that made us think about the characters and how we would expect them to act in specific situations. Mr. Bordelon did the same with Spanish language classes, also a new experience for us. After four years with this happy, intelligent man, college English was a breeze. I learned to read and write with joy, not pain, and I learned about the best in Cajun spices and cooking. Emoor Bordelon took me to a foreign land without ever having to eave Idaho. Are there any Emoor Bordelon's left for our children?

My favorite teacher was an unusual character for my school. I hate to pick just one, but Professor Alan Smith, my property prof at University of Michigan Law School, would certainly make my list. There's a reason the MI law library is named after him.

Do law school professors count? My favorite teacher in school was Mr. Smith, he was my science teacher in junior high. Who knew science could be fun.

I would love a chance to read this book, your review was excellent. Thanks
