~Information is current as of September 2009~

Thank you for your interest in having me review your book(s)!

What I will review: Literary fiction, historical fiction, young adult, fantasy, science fiction, mysteries, and thrillers (so long as they’re not super-natural). I have a Kindle and will review books in e-book format.

What I won’t review: Chick lit, romance, memoirs, non-fiction, or erotica.

You can find a list of books I’ve read since I’ve been blogging here.

Time frame for reviews: I like to post reviews of books on or around their release date. If a book is already published when I receive it, it can take anywhere from 2 to 6 months for me to read and review it here on my blog. However, if I accept your book, that is not a guarantee that I will review it on my blog. If a book is not a fit for me, then I will find someone else interested in reading your book. That person may or may not have a blog.

What kind of reviews I post: My readers expect my honest opinion, and that’s what I give. It’s not fair to only post reviews of books I like. While I am honest, I try to be fair and do no harm. I will use quotes from a book to back up my opinion, whether it’s a favorable opinion or not. My reviews are not traditional, as I try to keep them closer to how I would tell a fellow book lover about the book.

I’m not kidding when I say I will post negative reviews. All you need to do is go through my reviews; it won’t take long to find a book I didn’t love.

I always include the book cover, a link to the author’s website, a link to purchase the book through Amazon, and my own synopsis and personal thoughts about the book in each review.

What I do with ARCs: I do not sell ARCs or galleys, though I may give them to someone else to read.

What kind of blog this is: This is primarily a book blog, though you’ll see I frequently post about non-book subjects. I enjoy conversation, so my posts have a chatty feel to them.

Where I post my reviews: I don’t normally post reviews anywhere other than my blog, but if you’re an author or publisher and would like me to post my review elsewhere, I would be happy to oblige.

Other information:

  • I love doing author interviews and having authors do guest posts.
  • I’m happy to participate in book tours, but the book must be one that I’m interested in.
  • I also enjoy doing giveaways, and if a book is particularly good, I will buy a copy myself to give away to my readers. This is an effort on my part to help support the publishing industry and independent bookstores. I only do this with extraordinary books, though I did it three times in 2008 and have already done it once in 2009.
  • My blog articles are also syndicated through BlogRush and may be picked up by online newspapers across the country.
  • If you’d like to know about my stats, you’re welcome to email me. If you poke around on my blog, though, you’ll find that my posts get lots of comments, which is a sign of a healthy blog.
  • You can find me on Twitter, Facebook, Book Blogs Ning, and StumbleUpon.
