24 Hour Read-a-Thon is Almost Here!

Am I completely crazy? Why yes, I think I am, thank you for asking.

I commited a long time ago to helping Dewey with the back end of the Read-a-Thon, making me think I couldn’t participate. Shoot, if half my day’s gone, what’s the point? Besides, don’t normal people SLEEP at Dark O’clock, which is what time the Read-a-Thon starts, by the way. And I haven’t stayed up (willingly) past 2am for over 10 years.

Why yes, I am good at finding excuses not to do things, thank you for asking.

But I’ve had this one book sitting around for a while, maybe you’ve heard of it? It’s called Twilight by Stephanie something-or-other. And I’ve heard  that once I read the first one (which I’ll read like the devil), I will have NO CHOICE but to either read the other books right away or gnaw my own foot off. And I don’t want that (to gnaw my own foot off, that is), so I have all four books sitting at my house.

So then I was like, well, I could read BEFORE my shift and AFTER my shift! And that would be lots of Twilight! Which apparently I’ll want!

So I’m going to jump right in and see how things go. Anyone else out there going to be wild and crazy? You can still join!

And WHERE ON MY ALARM CLOCK IS DARK O’CLOCK??? HELP!!!

…and because I love polls and WordPress just introduced their new poll feature, I’ve created this poll just for you. There’s a lot of polls in that last sentence.

I can’t wait!!!! The read-a-thon will be so amazing. I am reading for clean water this time so I am even more driven to rip it up. I am not super fast though….but it will certainly be fun.

I plan to knock out Twilight too! 🙂 But I only have the first two books so I might gnaw my foot off…OUCH!

Yeah for Twilight! I am about 3/4 of the way through New Moon, so I’m hoping the Read – a – thon will help me finish it and move on to Eclipse.

Can’t wait to read w/all of you!

I’m so bummed! I totally want to do this, but hubs and I made plans to have two of our best friends in town tomorrow, and I’d feel like a jerk (and a huge nerd) telling them that they couldn’t come because I wanted to get up early in the morning and force myself to stay awake for 24 hours reading.

I’ve heard great things. Please let us know how they are :). Good luck.

This is my first read-a-thon but I can’t wait! I’ve only read Twilight, last year, and haven’t yet gnawed my feet off but I do have New Moon on the shelf if it gets too tempting! Good luck with your own little twilight-a-thon!

I take my hat off to you, my friend. Or I would, if I had a hat to remove.

    (Another different Tracy)

There needed to be another poll option: “No. Because I couldn’t get off work at the library, where for some reason I am not allowed to go hide away from patrons in a corner with my book.”
