$25 gift card to the first person who finds this shower caddy.
Update: Alyce has found the shower caddy I want, so the contest is closed! Thanks for all your help!
I’m so original on titles, aren’t I?
So here’s the thing: I have this shower caddy that I love. I’ve looked high and low for other shower caddies, and none are acceptable. This is the only shower caddy I want.
BUT I CAN’T FIND IT ANYWHERE.
I know most people would just buy a different shower caddy, but this is the PERFECT shower caddy. I love it and don’t want a different one.
So here’s where you come in: I’ll give a $25 gift card (to any store that does gift cards) to the first person who can find this caddy.
This is what I know:
- I bought this shower caddy probably about five years ago.
- I bought it at WalMart.
- I’ve looked for this caddy at WalMart, Target, Home Depot, Bed, Bath & Beyond, and online.
- If you could find this caddy in metal, that would be fine. I just want a slim shower caddy with the slanted shelves.
Here’s some pics so you can see what I have. Please forgive the shape it’s in…there’s a reason I need a new one!
Good luck!

The slanted shelves are awesome because you put your shampoo and conditioner on those shelves (top side down), so your shampoo and conditioner are always at the top of the bottle, making it easy to get the stuff out when they get low. It’s akin to sitting your shampoo bottle upside down, so all the shampoo goes to the top.

Wow, I’m in need of a new caddy too. Do they make shower caddies that don’t rust? Seems like that would be a no-brainer feature. I’m also curious about the slanty shelves. Is this for soap drainage?
Hey, maybe somebody should host a who’s-shower-caddy-is-in-the-worst-shape contest!

I just realized that they are charging in pounds, not dollars, so I don’t know if you could order that (or if you would want to ship internationally for a shower caddy).

Ok, so maybe that wasn’t the best solution – they only sell in cases of 6. So if you bought it you’d have enough to last you the rest of your life, or to give as gifts to your 5 best friends.

Jenners, I would have paid $50. The caddy itself is inexpensive, but it’s worth a significant more than that to me if I don’t have to “make do” with something I consider inferior. I’ll buy the caddy in the five or six pack that you have to purchase it, so I’ll basically have it for life. I’ve already had this caddy (not this exact one…this is at least my third or fourth) for 10 years, so it’s doubtful I’ll find another one I like more. I guess the worth of this shower caddy is relative.

I’ve been using that shower caddy for years, getting a new one every 2 to 3 years, at Wal-Mart. They don’t have it anymore, in the store or website. The closest thing I have found is the ClosetMaid Wavy. Aubuchon Hardware does have the Wavy (non-chrome) at their website only and you don’t have to purchase 6 at a time! Slanted shelves, not only can you put your bottles upside down, so much easier get the bottles, if you have more than one shelf, no hitting the upper shelf. With my oh so needs to be replaced caddy, I could put those family/economy-sized bottles with no problem. The best caddy ever, especially for a family.

In my search for a shower caddy just like the one you were looking for, I stumbled across your blog. WOuld you mind telling me where you ended up finding one? My mom really wants it and she’s helped me so much lately I’d love to surprise her with one.

I had been getting them at Walmart. They have been discontinued! Why is it the stuff that I really like, always ends up getting discontinued?! Still haven’t been able to find one with slanted bits that will hold as much as this one did.

How funny!!! My wife and have been looking for this same shower caddy for almost 2 years now. Every time we walk into a store, it’s almost the first thing we do “Look for OUR shower caddy!”. It seems incomprehensible that the large number of shower caddy manufacturers can’t figure this one out. The design is PERFECT and logical. Why would someone make a shower caddy without slanted or angled shelves? I’ve tried the links posted but they are either out of stock or forced to buy 6. If someone comes across these shower caddies, please post back. My wife purchased her about 5 years ago at Walmart as well. When we first started dating, I commented on it after my first shower in her apartment. In fact, it was the sole reason, I asked her to move in with me!!!

John, That is way to funny!!!!! My biggest regret, other than stocking up on this shower caddy, is that I don’t remember the manufacturer, so can’t give then “heck” about discontinuing it. The ones now available with slanted shelves are just too small. I did find a big one at Target, no slants, so with the design of my shampoo/conditioner bottles, I can’t put them upside down and still have to have a small corner caddy for the bottles that don’t fit. Guess there are those that just haven’t heard “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!’

Isn’t the Web miraculous sometimes?! This is just freakin’ unbelievable: My mother & I are on this quest, too!! I google-image’d some combo of words & up sprang your $25-contest pic of your soap-crusty’n'rusty PERFECTLY-DESIGNED shower caddy, and my heart raced thinking I’d found a vendor, a manufacturer–SOMEONE who could quell my mother’s harangue to replace our very-same soap-crusty’n'rusty, PERFECTLY-DESIGNED shower caddies!
Reading these posts has wrought some relief given that I’m trained as a librarian & I can’t flippin’ find ANYTHING as utilitarian as this PERFECTLY-DESIGNED shower caddy which we purchased (like everyone else) in WalMart b/w 2002 & 2004. Circa Fall 2002, I was striking out into single life again down in Los Angeles so I bought one for myself in Oxnard, CA. During their 1st visit to my new single digs in 2004, my parents recognized the utility of the design so off we actually travelled an hour north to that same WalMart where they bought 2 for themselves.
But even w/ 3 purchases, the caddies are now all worse for 5+yrs of soapy, wet wear-n-tear. B/c I’m unemployed & have time to kill, I’m only taking my mom’s harangue seriously now so if ANYONE has ANY suggestions, don’t hesitate to lemme know!!!
Somewhere in China (c’mon now–98% of everything at WalMart was shipped in a container over the Pacific), an unsung hero of shower-caddy design is laying his/her head on their pillow every night not knowing how deeply their work touched our lives.

My mom just called me and said, “Hey, where did we get that shower caddy that we love so much?” I said, “Wal-mart”. She said, “Well, they don’t have them anymore.” How sad. I have one in my kid’s bathroom that is in decent shape, maybe one little rust spot. Any buyers? Ha!
So, it looks like there is enough interest on here to buy a set of 6 now! Somebody buy them, and then put them on ebay and the rest of us can purchase.
You all are right, this is the perfect design!

Unfortunately that one isn’t the same as the original post. The one at the Hardwareandtools site doesn’t have enough space between the top hanger area & the first shelf & won’t fit on my shower head. I’ve been looking for this one for about 2 years as well.

Amazing! We had pretty much the exact same story to tell as the person who created this page. I’ve had a look at the outfit that only sells in packs of 6 and was going to do that until I had the bright idea of seeing if the manufacturer ClosetMaid has a web site, and they do! We’ve ordered one of their model 3418 (aka 341800) for $10 plus shipping. This definitely goes into my You Can Find Anything On The Internet file.
